A private school in Bawshar, Muscat is seeking a highly motivated individual for the full-time position of teaching Biology at the middle years/secondary level. This immediate full-time position will entail readying students for the Cambridge IGCSE examinations as well as the Sultanate of Oman Bilingual Program (based on Cambridge content); as such, familiarity with IGCSE exams and standards is an asset. Tasks will include other subject/school related responsibilities, such as: • Preparing lesson plans • Grading and reporting • Quiz/exam preparations • Communicating with students and parents • Supervision duties Successful candidates should have: • A B. Ed. from a recognized academic institute or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 5 years teaching experience • Experience teaching secondary biology and conducting labs with students • Fluent English speaking and writing skills (if not a native English speaker, candidates should have a minimum IELTS score of 7.5 or above) • Experience preparing students for international examination standards • An understanding of the latest pedagogical developments in science and associated curriculum areas • A motivation to see students excel academically and behaviorally Salary is commensurate with experience.
