Job Summary:
The Assistant provides support to the Network Administrator, assisting in daily network operations, troubleshooting, and covering end-user support. This role involves addressing user-reported issues, helping maintain network documentation, and supporting the configuration and monitoring of devices. The ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge in network administration and a strong interest in developing their technical skills.

Key Responsibilities:
User Support and Troubleshooting
Serve as the first point of contact for network-related inquiries and issues, providing prompt technical support to users.
Troubleshoot and resolve basic connectivity, IP phone, and hardware issues, escalating complex problems to the Network Administrator.
Assist with remote access support and VPN troubleshooting for end-users.
Network and Device Configuration Assistance
Support the Network Administrator with configuring and setting up network devices, including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
Assist in deploying and configuring Yealink IP phones, ensuring proper integration with the network.
Help manage and configure devices within Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems as directed.
Network Monitoring and Reporting
Use monitoring tools (such as ManageEngine) to track network health, bandwidth usage, and device connectivity.
Generate and analyze basic network reports, identifying recurring issues or patterns for Network Administrator review.
Document common issues and resolutions, contributing to the knowledge base for future troubleshooting.
Documentation and Hardware Inventory Management
Maintain updated records of network hardware, IP allocations, and device inventory.
Help update network diagrams, configuration documentation, and change logs under the supervision of the Network Administrator.
Organize and label network hardware and accessories to ensure an efficient work environment.

General Administrative Support
Assist in coordinating vendor support or warranty claims for network hardware issues.
Support routine network maintenance tasks, such as firmware updates or patch management.
Help prepare materials for team meetings and maintain records of network configurations and changes.

Qualifications:
Education: Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: 1+ year in a technical support or help desk role, ideally with exposure to networking.
Technical Skills:
Basic understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and troubleshooting techniques.
Familiarity with network devices (routers, switches, Firewall) and IP phone systems
Experience with network monitoring or help desk tools (ManageEngine experience is a plus).
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving abilities and willingness to learn.
Effective communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
Attention to detail with good organizational skills.

Working Conditions:
Office-based, with potential for occasional on-call support for network-related emergencies.
