Job Scope:

The Head Chef is responsible for designing, developing, and managing the execution of a new health-focused menu. This includes recipe creation, sourcing high-quality ingredients, kitchen setup, staff training, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. The role demands innovation, nutritional knowledge, and leadership to successfully launch and sustain a health-conscious dining concept.



Key Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Menu Development & Innovation
• Create a diverse, appealing, and nutritionally balanced healthy menu (e.g., gluten-free, keto, vegan, low-calorie options).
• Collaborate with nutritionists or dietitians (if applicable) to ensure nutritional value.
• Develop and test recipes, ensuring consistency in taste, texture, and presentation.
• Update the menu seasonally or based on customer feedback and market trends.

2. Kitchen Setup & Management
• Design kitchen workflow and equipment needs to support a health-focused operation.
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for food preparation and hygiene.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and health regulations.

3. Ingredient Sourcing & Inventory
• Source high-quality, fresh, and organic ingredients where possible.
• Build relationships with trusted suppliers for clean-label and sustainable products.
• Manage inventory to reduce waste and control costs.

4. Team Leadership & Training
• Recruit, train, and lead kitchen staff with a focus on healthy food preparation techniques.
• Conduct regular training on portion control, cleanliness, and customer service.
• Foster a positive and disciplined kitchen environment.

5. Quality Control & Presentation
• Ensure all dishes are consistently presented according to brand standards.
• Monitor portion sizes and food aesthetics.
• Conduct regular quality checks and taste testing.

6. Cost Management & Profitability
• Work within the defined food cost and labor cost budgets.
• Adjust recipes and menu items to maximize profitability without compromising health values.
• Assist in pricing menu items strategically.

7. Collaboration & Marketing Support
• Work with marketing and branding teams to showcase new menu items.
• Provide input for menu descriptions, nutritional info, and food photography.
• Participate in customer engagement activities like tastings or workshops.



Qualifications & Skills Required:
• Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef.
• Strong background in healthy cuisine (plant-based, clean eating, etc.).
• Culinary degree or relevant professional training preferred.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene standards.
