Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure & Virtualization Engineer with strong expertise in managing both physical and virtual environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of virtualization technologies, operating systems, and backup solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Virtual Infrastructure Management:

Installation and deployment of virtualization platforms including VMware, Nutanix AHV, Oracle LVM.

Configuration and administration of virtual networks using standard and distributed switches.

Managing clusters, resource pools, templates, and virtual machine (VM) deployments.

Performing P2V (Physical to Virtual) and V2V (Virtual to Virtual) migrations.

Planning VM resource capacity and maintaining balanced server loads across clusters and standalone hosts.

Ensuring application and service availability in the virtual environment.


Backup & Data Protection:

Managing backups using Veeam Backup and Microfocus Tape Backup software.

Scheduling and maintaining backup jobs (daily, weekly, monthly).

Monitoring, alerting, and reporting using virtualization management tools.

Implementing proactive security controls across systems and projects.

IT Support & Project Engagement:

Supporting IT infrastructure and virtualization OS platforms in TEST environments and project setups.

Handling IT infrastructure-related queries and providing technical support.


Physical Server Infrastructure:

Administering physical server hardware including HPE Synergy enclosures, blade servers, and rack-mounted servers.

Capacity planning, hardware commissioning/decommissioning, and maintenance.

Performing root cause analysis and resolving server hardware issues.

Coordinating with vendors for RMA processes and escalations.

Technical Skills Required:

Operating Systems: Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

Virtualization Platforms: VMware, Nutanix AHV, Oracle LVM

Server Hardware: HPE Synergy, Blade, Rack Servers

Backup Solutions: Veeam, Microfocus Tape Backup

Networking: Standard & Distributed Virtual Switches

Storage and Server Administration knowledge

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

Relevant certifications in VMware, Nutanix, or Linux are a plus.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to coordinate with vendors and manage escalations efficiently.
