Position Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Junior Surveyor , a
leading provider of advanced geospatial solutions in Oman and Saudi Arabia. This position
offers a unique opportunity for aspiring survey professionals to gain hands-on experience in a
collaborative and challenging work environment. As a Junior Surveyor, you will play a vital
role in assisting with the execution of land, topographic, and construction surveys. You will
support senior team members in data collection, equipment operation, and project
documentation, ensuring the accuracy and precision of all survey outputs.
Key Responsibilities
Survey Operations:
Assist senior surveyors in conducting a variety of surveys, including land,
topographic, and construction surveys, to ensure accurate data collection for project
planning and execution.
Mark, measure, and record site-specific data points using established procedures and
advanced surveying instruments.
Work alongside the team to interpret survey plans and drawings, ensuring they align
with client and project requirements.
Equipment Management and Maintenance:
Prepare, set up, and calibrate equipment such as total stations, GNSS/GPS systems,
and auto levels prior to fieldwork.
Perform regular checks and basic troubleshooting on surveying tools to maintain
operational readiness.
Organize and safeguard all tools and equipment during transport and at job sites.
Data Collection and Reporting:
Document and log survey data accurately, ensuring it is organized for analysis and
reporting.
Report to senior surveyors on task completion, site progress, and any challenges
encountered during fieldwork.
Flag and address any inconsistencies or issues identified during surveys, ensuring
swift resolution.
Collaboration and Skill Development:
Actively participate in on-the-job training and guidance sessions to develop technical
skills in surveying methods and tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including GIS specialists, engineers, and
project managers, to ensure smooth project execution.
Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and keep up with industry
advancements and technology.
Skills and Competencies
Technical Skills:
Basic knowledge of surveying tools, techniques, and field practices.
Familiarity with tools like total stations, GPS/GNSS systems, and leveling equipment.
Understanding of AutoCAD, GIS software, or related applications is an advantage.
Soft Skills:
Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and precision.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to report findings and
collaborate with teams.
Adaptability to work under varying field conditions and manage time effectively.
Enthusiastic, curious, and motivated to enhance technical and practical expertise.
Qualifications
Diploma or certification in surveying, civil engineering, or a related field (preferred).
0–3 years of experience in surveying or geospatial data collection.
Physical ability to perform field tasks, including lifting and transporting equipment.
Tools and Equipment
Surveying Instruments: Total stations, GPS/GNSS systems, levels, and prisms.
Software: AutoCAD, GIS tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Accessories: Tripods, measuring tapes, marking tools, and other survey-specific
equipment.
Working Conditions
Outdoor fieldwork in varying environmental conditions.
Frequent travel to project sites in Oman and Saudi Arabia.
