Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Garage Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance services (oil changes, tire rotations, brake checks, etc. )

Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and technical expertise.

Conduct repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and other mechanical systems.

Perform inspections to identify vehicle wear and tear or damage.

Keep accurate records of services performed and parts used.

Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.

Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.

Advise supervisors or clients on required repairs and estimated time and cost.

Test drive vehicles before and after repairs to ensure functionality.

Assist in ordering and inventory management of spare parts and workshop supplies.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a mechanic or in a similar role.

Strong knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures.

Ability to use diagnostic equipment and hand/power tools.

High school diploma or vocational training in mechanics or automotive technology.

Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment.

Attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Valid driver’s license (preferred or required depending on role).

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification from an accredited automotive repair program.

Experience with both petrol and diesel engines.

Familiarity with electrical and computerized vehicle systems.
