Description

The Sales Manager is responsible for leading and managing the sales efforts for Ecolab and Diversey products and services in industries such as hospitality, foods processing, FMB and catering, Healthcare, metal Surface, cleaning, hygiene, and energy management. This role involves driving sales growth, developing customer relationships, managing a sales team, and ensuring the successful implementation of Ecolab’s solutions. Below is a detailed description of the responsibilities for an Ecolab Sales Manager:

Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy Development and Execution:
• Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve business targets and expand market share within assigned regions or sectors.
• Identify new business opportunities, target accounts, and market segments to drive growth in both existing and new customer bases.
• Analyze market trends and competitor activities to adjust sales tactics and identify areas of opportunity.
• Work with senior management to align sales objectives with broader company goals.
Team Leadership and Development:
• Lead and manage a team of sales representatives, providing mentorship, training, and motivation to ensure they meet or exceed sales targets.

Sales Forecasting and Reporting:
• Develop accurate sales forecasts and track performance against targets to ensure revenue goals are met.
• Prepare and present regular sales reports, including market trends, competitor analysis, and sales pipeline status, to senior management.
• Analyze sales data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities, and adjust strategies accordingly.
Product Knowledge and Application:
• Develop a deep understanding of product offerings, including cleaning, sanitizing, hygiene solutions.
• Educate customers on the benefits and applications of products, ensuring they understand how the solutions can improve their operations.

Budget Management:
• Manage the sales budget, ensuring resources are used efficiently to meet sales targets.
Training and Development:
• Ensure that the sales team receives continuous training
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth within the sales team.

Contract Negotiation and Closing:
• Lead negotiations for large contracts, ensuring favorable terms for both Ecolab and the customer.
• Close sales deals effectively, managing all stages of the sales cycle from initial contact to final agreement.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Experience: Typically, 5+ years in sales, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or leadership role, preferably in industries such as chemicals, water treatment, or industrial cleaning solutions.
• Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities to manage, inspire, and develop a high-performing sales team.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with customers, internal teams, and senior management.
• Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation abilities to close deals and manage large contracts.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify customer needs and provide solutions that meet their requirements.
• Customer Focused: A strong focus on understanding and solving customer problems to build long-term relationships.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze sales data, forecast sales trends, and identify opportunities for growth.
• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of products and services, including water treatment, sanitation, and cleaning chemicals, is highly beneficial.
• Education: A bachelor’s degree in business, chemistry, engineering, or a related field is typically preferred.
